Tia and Carlo’s wedding unfolded smoothly, taking us on a beautiful journey from one heartfelt moment to the next. Pure excitement started the day as this was the result of 14 colorful years! It was truly straight out of a movie — but better. The preparations were sprinkled with so many displays of love. Tia and Carlo exchanged letters, pouring the content of their hearts. This was followed by Tia’s series of first looks with her bridesmaids and family. It was beautiful getting to witness the support and enthusiasm from their nearest and dearest. Of course, we couldn’t miss the touching first look between Tia and Carlo. It was a truly special moment and the happy tears were present since.
Then, the focus shifted to the heart of their wedding day. Infused with Filipino traditions, the ceremony resonated with the symbolism of the unity candle, pinning of the veil, lasso rosary, exchange of coins, and their first Eucharist as a married couple. Of course, The Flowered Blue did a marvelous job turning everything into a real-life fairytale with their gorgeous flowers!
Tia and Carlo’s day continued joyously, with a cocktail hour, family pictures, and a private viewing of the reception hall. The newlyweds’ first dance gracefully transitioned into dinner service, where they warmly greeted tables. The evening featured a charming cake cutting, a gelato cart, and an elegant champagne tower. This was truly such a well-thought-out reception! It the stage for heartfelt toasts by the father of the bride, maid of honor, and best man. Dart Collective‘s enthusiasm and expertise in knowing how to really get the party started made the night even more memorable! Everyone had an absolute blast.
Tia and Carlo’s Love Story radiates at Addison Grove
Tia and Carlo’s love story began in a small town where stars seemed to align. They met at a karate practice when they were just 8 and 9 years old. Their initial encounter involved punches exchanged during a sparring session. This set the stage for what seemed like the start of a typical childhood rivalry. Despite crossing paths over the next five years at various events due to their parents’ involvement in the same Filipino-American Society, animosity persisted. Fate took a turn after Tia’s 13th birthday. She found herself in Tae Kwon Do classes, discovering that Carlo was among the highest belts. A chance text message led to an unexpected friendship, and in 2009, Carlo asked Tia to be his girlfriend.
Fast forward to 2021, a pivotal moment awaited Tia as Carlo orchestrated a proposal with meticulous planning. Under the guise of helping their photographer friend, Ashley, scout for photographic locations, Carlo led Tia to Chicago Botanic Garden. They took their time walking around the gardens until Ashley eventually called them to Tia’s favorite spot, the Japanese Garden. As they crossed the bridge, Tia remembered telling Carlo in 2018 that this was the place she wanted him to propose when they were ready.
In a short amount of time that they were walking, Ashley magically set up a beautiful picnic with a tasty cheeseboard and champagne glasses. It seemed almost too good to be true, and Tia wondered how she did it in just 20 minutes with props from a small IKEA bag. After some test shots, Ashley asked Tia to look away and then turn around. To her surprise, Carlo was down on one knee, and everything from the past 12 years converged into this one pivotal moment Tia had always dreamed of!
