Sara and Martin’s Love Story glimmers at Bob Bullock Museum
Sara and Martin’s love story began in October 2019 when they crossed paths at work. Martin managed the newly opened high-rise, 70 Rainey, while Sara worked for the building’s developer. Despite both dating other people at the time, they formed a friendship, with Martin consistently displaying a soft spot for Sara through his helpful and attentive nature.
In 2020, Martin left 70 Rainey to focus on his business and work for another developer. Over the years, their friendship deepened, marked by shared meals, pickleball games, movie nights, and dancing downtown. By 2021, they often joked about dating since they were both single and were constantly discovering their similarities. The turning point came in 2022, when Martin invited Sara as his plus one to his annual company party. The evening sparked a realization – why weren’t they dating? This prompted them to officially start their romantic journey.
Their first official date took place at Neighborhood Sushi in Austin. The connection flourished, and in December of the same year, after another meal at Neighborhood Sushi, Martin proposed. Upon returning home, he had arranged rose petals, champagne, numerous LED lights, and a large “MARRY ME” sign in the backyard. True to the saying, “when you know, you know,” Sara and Martin embraced the certainty of their love story.
