Thank you again for your consideration in PhotoHouse Films. It means a lot to us, and wanted to share a few thoughts with you after shooting over 400 weddings. There is so much that goes into planning a wedding, and so many vendors to choose from, we are sure it can be overwhelming. But we assure you we are NOT the same, and there can be HUGE differences between us and so we will focus on two of our key statements.
“PROFESSIONAL” AND “PEACE OF MIND”
Think of this as a series of questions that you would ask every potential photographer and cinematographer you may be interested in. We have found that some of the times, clients just aren’t sure what to ask, and unfortunately though it may lead to a cheaper price, the final product suffers tremendously, and the clients investment was wasted. Here are some questions we would be asking. This is an investment. With all of the money spent on your wedding day, besides a few keepsakes from the day, what you keep forever, is your wedding dress, photographs, and cinema film.
“PROFESSIONAL”
“Is this your full time job”? – Yes it is. We just celebrated our fith year in business and just booked our 460th wedding earlier this year.
“Do you have any reviews that other clients have written about your services”? – We sure do. Over 80 5 Star Reviews, with more each week. If you would like to review these, just click on this link – Our Reviews! –

“Have you won any awards”? Yes we have!! – This year we were chosen by Austin Monthly as the best Wedding Videography company in Austin! We have also won both “The Best of Weddings” from the Knot, and Couples Choice from Wedding Wire numerous years in a row!
“Tell us a little bit about your gear” – There are 3 key elements to a great shooting day. Image quality, Lighting, and for films, sound. We use state-of the art of all three. Canon 5D Mark III’s and Canon C100’s Felix lighting so that all of your first dance, toast, cake cutting, come alive but do not look like flashlights in your face. Audio for films is SO important and we run 3 separate feeds during your ceremony – Most companies may have one. This is a BIG question to ask them!
“PEACE OF MIND”
” Do you have insurance”? – Absolutely we do. A 2 million dollar policy just incase something would ever happen at one of our events ( it never has ), you can rest assured we are covered.
” Do you have back up gear” – We have back up gear for every piece we bring to a wedding, ensuring that even if a camera, recorder, lighting was to fail, we are ready to go in a moments notice.
“Do you have back up to our footage and photographs”? 3 of them to be exact. You always have to be prepared that something could happen to the original place of business. Fire, Water, etc.. because of that, we have 3 completely separate locations for storing your files. This ensures we always have a back up while we are working on your finished product.
” What happens if you are unavailable the day of our wedding due to illness or injury”? This is a great question, and most companies will tell you ” We work with a network of people who are great” and I always ask myself How great could they be if they are not already booked! – At PhotoHouse Films, we do not use any photographers or videographers that have not gone through our training course, and we actually pay our additional shooters to be ” on call” the day of your wedding, just incase something would happen!
” How do you ensure our day will go smoothly”? – We have a very specific questionnaire that we send out after booking, that will help you think about your day, and everything that is involved. We also have ” helpful suggestions” that we send out to ensure everything about your day goes smoothly. Because of our size, we also reach out, through our production manager, that goes over the 3 essential items to any wedding. Your questionnaire, your day of timeline” and your shot list. This is done 4-8 weeks before the wedding to make sure we are all ready to go. Before every wedding we schedule a team meeting to go over exactly how the day should go, and what is expected from each member of the team!
Thank you again for reading, listening, and the opportunity to be a part of your amazing wedding day!
Best Regards,
Will Herrington – Owner/ Creative Director
