THE PRESERVE AT CANYON LAKE, THROUGH OUR LENS
The Preserve at Canyon Lake has become one of those places where our relationship goes well beyond showing up on a wedding day. We’ve been coming here for years, and somewhere along the way, it became a venue our entire team genuinely looks forward to returning to.
Some relationships are built one wedding at a time.
One of the moments that really stuck with me was when The Preserve team reached out after seeing one of the wedding films we created there. They told us how impressed they were with our work, that they wanted to see us there more often, and added PhotoHouse Films to their preferred vendor list. That kind of recommendation means a lot because it came directly from seeing what our team created at their venue.
Since then, the relationship has only continued to grow.
We’ve created resources specifically for their couples, shared galleries and films back and forth, and continued photographing and filming weddings there year after year. The Preserve has continued including us in their preferred vendor resources, and that kind of trust is something we never take for granted.
Being recommended is something we never take for granted.
What I also love is that the relationship doesn’t stop once the wedding is over. Their team genuinely wants to see what was created. They reach out for galleries, films, and sneak peeks so they can celebrate and share the weddings happening there right alongside us.
There have even been times when someone from their team has told us that one of our films brought them to tears and that they couldn’t wait to share it. Those little exchanges mean a lot to us. It reminds me that we’re both invested in creating something meaningful for the people who choose to celebrate there.
And that familiarity matters when we come back. We know the property, we know how a wedding day moves through the different spaces, and we know we’re working alongside a team that cares about giving people a great experience.
The Preserve team has told us they love having us there and want to continue working together for years to come. We feel exactly the same way.
When people keep choosing to work together, that says more than anything we could write here.
We’re grateful for every wedding we’ve been trusted to capture at The Preserve and every opportunity we’ve had to work alongside their team.
If The Preserve at Canyon Lake is on your list, we would tell you to go see it and meet the team whether or not you ever call us.

through the eyes of PhotoHouse Films
The grounds at The Preserve at Canyon Lake offer some of our favorite opportunities for wedding portraits throughout the day. Lush landscaping, mature trees, open lawns, pathways, and the private spring-fed lake give us a mix of natural backdrops without ever having to leave the property. From wedding-party portraits and quiet newlywed moments to golden-hour photography and cinematic footage, the landscape gives every part of the day its own sense of place.
The Chapel at The Preserve at Canyon Lake is a bright, modern ceremony space framed by vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams, stone details, and dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the surrounding landscape. The abundance of natural light gives us beautiful conditions for capturing everything from the walk down the aisle and emotional reactions to the exchange of vows. With the Hill Country scenery visible beyond the windows, even an indoor ceremony still feels connected to the natural setting of The Preserve.
The Staircase at The Preserve at Canyon Lake offers a timeless architectural backdrop for wedding photography and film. Its sweeping design, natural light, and elegant lines create a beautiful setting for newlywed portraits, wedding-party photos, and quiet moments throughout the day. It’s a simple but striking part of the venue that lends itself naturally to the polished, editorial imagery we love to create.
The Cocktail Courtyard at The Preserve at Canyon Lake offers a relaxed lakeside setting for guests to gather between the ceremony and reception. Surrounded by mature oak, bald cypress, and sycamore trees, the courtyard brings the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country into cocktail hour. We love capturing this part of the day as guests mingle, toast, and settle into the celebration, with the lake and changing seasonal landscape creating a beautiful backdrop for candid photography and film.
The Ballroom at The Preserve at Canyon Lake brings a warm, refined atmosphere to the reception, with exposed wood beams, tile flooring, a statement fireplace, sweeping spiral staircase, and views of the surrounding Hill Country. From first dances and heartfelt toasts to packed dance floors and late-night celebrations, the space gives us layers of light, movement, and architectural detail to work with. It’s a setting that photographs beautifully throughout the evening while giving every reception moment its own sense of energy.

A photograph holds what the day looked like. It cannot hold your father's voice breaking halfway through the toast, or the fifteen seconds before the doors opened when nobody was talking yet.
